What car are being launched in 2019 and are they worth the wait?
When it comes to leasing a new car, one of the decisions facing consumers is whether to wait for the arrival of the latest model or to see if there's a deal to be done on the outgoing model. Most manufacturers will be launching new models this year, but we take a look at few of the more popular models to help you decide.
- VW Golf Mk 8 - delayed until 2020
We were going to kick things off with the ever popular and iconic Golf but drivers will have to wait a little longer as the team at Volkswagen have postponed the intended launch date of November 2019 to some time in 2020 due to technical adjustments. So, what can we expect when it is revealed at a dedicated launch event to be held shortly after the Frankfurt Motor Show this autumn?
Family users are sure to be impressed by the larger cabin giving passengers more space. Cargo also gets more room from the increased boot space. Whilst the Mark 8 will be most technologically advanced model to date from the range, will the man in the street be able to tell the difference between the new and outgoing models - after all, if you're going to be driving the latest version, it doesn't hurt for people to notice, does it?
We're confident the new exterior design will turn heads. Innovations include lower bumpers and striking LED headlights. The defined wheel arches echo those of the Arteon and the new bonnet creases give it a sharp look. So it is worth the wait? Well, the delay until 2020 will mean you are not going to be driving it this year, but it could mean there are deals to be had on the current model. - Renault Clio - due Autumn 2019
Again, another popular choice in the small car sector and this latest version from the French manufacturer is the most technologically advanced model in its class. The 2019 version will also sport its most upmarket interior yet.
Benefiting from a lighter build, the new Clio delivers both noticeable performance improvements as well as fuel-efficiency gains.
Additional practicality is promised in the form of a larger boot. Externally, whilst overall there is a subtle upgrade to the design of the exterior, new LED headlights cut a striking form. If you are interested in registering an interest in the 2019 Renault Clio then give us a call and leave the rest to us.
- Peugeot 208 - due late 2019
Peugeot is launching its new 2019 208 model with a firm eye on the future and for the first time ever will include an electric derivative, although it looks like this will be the most expensive model in the range at launch.
Its striking and sporty new design looks set to be one of the more dramatic makeovers of the year. Pitched against the Ford Fiesta the new 208 is a real contender in the super-mini class.
Inside the new interior gets a digital dashboard for the first time but as yet we are waiting for confirmation of cabin and boot space. If you are interested in the new Peugeot 208 why not give not give us a call on 01565 65 66 66.
Back in November last year, we announced the launch of Toyota's Corolla to replace the Auris. This upmarket and elegant model offers a great spec, even at entry level. Such "luxuries" as reversing camera and LED headlights are standard - can you believe it?
Not only that, Toyota are so confident in this version that they are offering a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty which can't be bad. A great choice of engines including performance hybrids and company car friendly emissions will ensure the Corolla is a hit with many drivers. If you fancy the new Corolla which comes in hatchback and estate forms, have a read of our review here and see the latest Toyota Corolla deals here - don't forget these deals can change daily so check back often or give us a call and we'll do the hard work for you.
Based on the VW Golf, the 2019 Seat Leon offers more interior and boot space and for the first time, a hybrid version is offered as part of the range. A plug-in hybrid is planned to follow in 2020.
When it comes to styling, the designers say they've opted for "evolution not revolution" however, there are enough changes to distinguish the new model from the outgoing version.
Whether the Seat Leon the car for you or indeed any of those listed above, you can be sure that the motor industry will continue to develop new models incorporating changes ranging from subtle to great big whoppers. Electric vehicles continue to be a big focus for all manufacturers and although we are getting there, we've still a way to go.
